Not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting in, but does anybody know where to go to change the phrase that is displayed under your website when you search for a website through a search engine?

There are two parts to this - there is the heading - which is the same as the "title" in the page coding, you can change this.
The other part would be the description - this can often be set by using the meta name="description"... coding - but some times the search engine will but it's on description based on the content of the page.
