Hi, I was testing my website and found that all files work except for Macromedia flash/shockwave files. I got error message like "xxxx memory referenced xxxx not found..." They all work perfectly when I test on the local drive.[nbsp][nbsp]I have no clue at all.[nbsp][nbsp]Can anybody help me?[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks!!!

I am no expert on Flash, so that error message doesn't help me at all.[nbsp][nbsp]However if you posted the URL it may help others in determining what the problem may be ?

Have a good One

-Hmm,[nbsp][nbsp]Would love to look, if we only knew where ;) -

Well I visited your URL, http://www.betterlaterthannever.com, and viewing the source code I saw that the bottom ">>" was a link, apparently to a flash enabled page, however it crashed both Netscape 4.76 and IE 5.5 and I haven't been able to view that file at all. :(

Maybe someone with more Flash experience or different versions of Browsers would be able to get a look.

Sorry I can't help

Good Luck and Happy Holidays,
Bob

Another with a similar problem had found that the file was uploaded in ASCII rather than Binary format.[nbsp][nbsp]You may want to try deleting the file and uploading it in Binary to see if that helps.

Thanks! Deb!

I tried and it worked![nbsp][nbsp]Seems that .swf is not auto detected although it's really common, isn't it?

Thanks again![nbsp][nbsp]And I think now it can be closed.

The "Auto Detect" feature in many FTP programs seems to cause problems, sometimes... it did in my case with WS FTP Pro.[nbsp][nbsp]For some reason it decided to upload a .pl script in binary even though .pl was in the ascii list, so now I always force it to the right method.[nbsp][nbsp](another time one session preset became "corrupt" so that any time I logged using that preset it would always go to binary for cgi or pl which was a pain until I noticed and setup a new session) I have no idea why this doesn't _always_ work; maybe programmers just like to keep us on our toes :)
