View Full Version : Help with email on proxy
We have a cable modem, networked 2 computers. We have AnalogX Proxy and I also downloaded SocksCap32. Mine is the host computer, we managed to get his mail to send but he can't receive mail. The tech with Charter Pipeline seems to think it has something to do with how futurequest has our mail, where there is no pop or smtp in front of the domain and with the login different than other email servers. Any help with this would be most appreciated. Can't having him crying over there about not being able to download his mail ;)[nbsp]

The tech with Charter Pipeline seems to think it has something to do with how futurequest has our mail I'm afraid that's not good enough... :(
This tech is pointing the finger/blame without substantiated proof that we are actually in error..
If he can provide documented proof, with explanation as to what is wrong - then I can proceed with evaluating the merits of his bug report...

FutureQuest
He didn't say you were in error, he just had never seen an email that didn't use the pop and smtp in front of the domain name, also the xblabla-bla for the log in name. Don't get upset, sure didn't mean for ya to, it's just we have tried everything and hubby's mail still won't work(only sends will not receive) says it can't find the host.
Oh well just thought someone might have a cable modem and be networked and would have a sure fire way for us to get this to work.
Thanks for replying!
Which domain name is this for? The same as what is within your profile or a different one?[nbsp][nbsp]Can not find host is usually a DNS error.... is the domain in question fully transferred?

Yes it's for maxpatch.com and yes it's been with futurequest for quite awhile now. We just have the problem with getting his to work because of networked. Mine works fine since I am the host. Charter just won't help us anymore because we don't have a commercial account, even though we pay for the extra computer to use the modem. We just can't get this AnalogX Proxy thing to make it work nor this Socks32Cap thing I downloaded to make his mail download either. I mean this isn't a FutureQuest problem, just thought someone could help us is all.
And Deb ya know how it is to have to listen to a man whine just cause he can't get his mail ;)[nbsp]
