Ok – the good folks at FQ support have chimed in and said that their servers are working fine (and I am sure they are). They have also said that they were able to use the settings that I provided them to access my email account via Thunderbird.

So I know that my settings are good – but there is more…

I have configured Outlook 2003 and Thunderbird on two separate machines. Neither application gives me an error. Thunderbird says there is no mail on the server, MS Outlook says that the send/receive completed successfully.

I have non FQ POP accounts working just fine on my PC (both of my PCs for that matter). Even more outrageous, I can send email using my FQ account without error. I can also see my email via the FQ web email front end.

I am using Windows XP on both machines and Qwest as an ISP.

Any suggestions?

Any reason Qwest may be blocking POP access to non-Qwest servers? Either way, your next troubleshooting stop would be with them.

No - I am using Gmail and Yahoo pop accounts. Only FQ is giving me problems. I have set up the FQ pop accounts in different physical locations as well. For example, I am at my work PC now. Gmail is working FQ is not.

This really is a show stopper for me and FQ.

Any suggestions?

We sent you another reply to your Service Desk Ticket this morning. Have you received that and investigated the username being used?

I did - your reputation for outstanding service is well deserved. This issue is resolved.

Since I was using a valid username, I was not getting an error from the server or the application and was able to send email without out error as well.

The username that I was keying in however was not for the account that I wanted to POP.

Again, thanks for the outstanding support (and the incredible turn around time).
