beginner htaccess query

I found my htaccess file under stats but I can't work out how to view it to see what is there by default. Can anyone please give me a hint how to do this? I was also wondering if there are other copies elsewhere - I have looked but haven't found anything, I thought that there might be one directly under the www folder as mentioned in the htaccess tutorial.

Hi Jenny,

If I am not mistaken, the htaccess file in your stats file is there by default but actually contains nothing, unless you place something there.

You may make an htaccess file in any of your folders for differing reasons.[nbsp][nbsp]Here is a FutureQuest specific Tutorial about htacess.

It also tells you how to view the contents of a htaccess file, which many do by opening in notepad.
