My skills are pretty rudimentary. Basic HTML for the most part. I've installed scripts but when they break I'm lost. When my site was hacked recently I was really lost. A script someone else installed and modifed was cracked and the person who installed it was no longer available to help. I have no idea how to check my stats for suspicious activity. I don't know how to back up a mysql database or upgrade or modify my vbulletin.

I need somone who can help with these things and perhaps implement some features that I might think up.

I can't pay much but hope, if I get a reasonable quote, I can somehow budget for it.

Please PM me if you can help.

thanks,
Brian

I seriously doubt you will find someone reliable to help you for what seems to be very low pay that you are offering. Are you a charity site?

"Reasonable" doesn't sound like very low pay. Aren't there still some young programmers who would work for $10 per hour or less? There used to be.

I'm sure there are but usually on that type of wage they aren't usually too dependable.

Maybe Binky should get someone decent for the security work and some budget guy for the other stuff.

I appreciate the feedback, folks.

I should mention that the site is a relatively small, community music site. I have a few ads for local events now and then that pay the bills but no other income. It's run under the aegis of a non-profit jazz society. I hope to eventually get some funding and will then be in a better position to pay more for any services I require. In the meantime I don't think there's really much work involved.

I hesitate to include a link here because I think it might be like advertising that here's a site run by a guy who doesn't really know what he's doing so therefore vulnerable to attack. Maybe I'm too paranoid but it has in fact been attacked twice. I'll send the link to any FQ member that PM's me, though, if they want to have a look.
