thanks sheila! i couldn't figure out the word for what i was looking for which was SUBDOMAIN. i got my info already.. so.. thanks folks!

4. DS-IRM (Domain Stack-IRM, or Subdomain)

A DS-IRM is a Subdomain that works like an IRM. For example, you might want to set up a separate section of your site called http://links.YourDomain.com/, which would actually point to http://www.YourDomain.com/links/.

These work just like a regular IRM, except that you do not need to purchase a domain name.
