Hi,

I hope this is the right place and that it's okay to post about this.

There's an online petition asking Microsoft to offer proper support for PNG.

Erica IE 7 has full support for PNG including transparency.

How long will this take to reach users currently on XP? Is IE 7 still vista only? Will things like improved png support filter down to an IE6 upgrade?

IE 7 will be an IE 6 upgrade. I guess that will happen no later than Vista. See http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/04/26/412263.aspx for information on png support.
