I would like to have an account setup on FutureQuest for email only. I know it generally isn't a problem hosting the webpages on one site and email on another, but the problem I am not sure on how to get around is FutureQuest doesn't let you access Pop or SMTP via an IP address. So if I am hosting the website on another 3rd party site and want the email hosted with FutureQuest how do I setup the DNS to do this? If possible?

I love FutureQuest and would host the web here as well, but my client is a realtor using some crazy scripts and code, but I really want the email on FutureQuest, much better system.

Any thoughts or comments are welcomed.

Thanks!

Joseph

In general, you would want to manage your own DNS through some service such as easyDNS or similar
(see DNS Providers at dmoz.org (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Protocols/DNS/DNS_Providers/))

In general, if the only services that you wish to use at FutureQuest are the email features, then you would need to set up DNS entries for the mail hosts

pop.example.com
mail.example.com

At this time, both of the above of the above would point to the IP address assigned to your domain. There is a chance that could change in the future, in which case you would need to update the DNS to the correct IP address.

You would also need to set up an MX host for the domain, which should point to mx.FutureQuest.net
