Hello Friends-
Puzzled....
I'm pretty new to the game and I haven't published my site to a host yet, so as a precaution I saved my web to my
cd-rw and I was surprized to see that it has aol triangle icons next to each page. ???

It may be helpful to further explain what I'm experiencing.

I've just downloaded one of Paul Vineburg's themes and I'm in the process of adding the content that will appear on my future site. No screen shots yet.

I backed up my work into two places.
My cdrw[nbsp][nbsp] and[nbsp][nbsp] C:\mydocuments\mywebs.

When I fire up Fp2000 to work on my site I click on recent webs and everything is fine.
I can edit and view in the Ms enviroments of IE 5.0 or Fp2000. No sign of aol triangles.

Now...
If I click on my web while browsing the content of the cdrw disk or C:\mywebs it shows it as related to aol. ( The icons )[nbsp][nbsp]So when I open any of these files it fires up my aol connection instead of FP. It is seems evident to me that my webs should only be associated with fp2000. How aol hijacked my web is a mystery to me.

As it stands I'm no where near ready to post this site live on the net. I want to head this off at the pass before it becomes real trouble. I still have a product to tweek and content to add to the site.

My questions are:

Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do?

If left alone will this reek havoc on me when I finally try to publish?

How do I get aol to take a flying leap and grant fp2000 it's rightful association to my web.

If anyone could post a step by step plan I will be forever indebted.

Thank you to all the experts who took time to post. You are all experts in your own right.

I hope I made you smile!

This is nothing more than Windows file associations. AOL installed itself as your default browser, thus its icon shows for HTML pages. Normally (without AOL) you would see IE or Netscape's icon.

You can change file associations from Windows Explorer. Quickest way is to shift-right-click on an HTML document, select 'Open With', choose your browser (or FP), and check the box that says "Always use this program...".
