i finally decided to overhaul the look of my site recently and one of the things i thought might work to my advantage is to create a simple navigation bar along the lines of the one found on the firefox download site. on that page they have a transparent text graphic in the upper left corner with the word 'mozilla' (see http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ and http://www.mozilla.com/images/template/moz-com-logo.png).
i would like to reproduce the style of this graphic in an image that reads 'random mouse'. i know its not original, but i think it would work well for my home page.
unfortunately i am a total klutz when it comes to anything graphical. i was wondering if there was anyone here that might find this task dead easy and be able to knock out the image in less than 5 minutes? same font face, font size, shading. transparent image. just the text changed.
thanks in advance to anyone who wants to try their hand at this.

I'll see what I can do for you - back in a few!

Here you go:

This is about as close as I can get without spending a bunch of time on it.

thanks john. that's not bad. i really appreciate the effort, and i'd love to be able to use it, but it's a different font, and shading, so the final result isn't quite what i need. and you're right, i didn't want anyone to spend too much time on it.

The font that they use is more than likely custom to Mozilla. The closest match that I could find using "What the Font" was part of the PTL Manual Office Med font set which is $80. I used a font that I owned that was the closest match in look.
I am sorry that it didn't meet your expectations.

This looks good with a white background. Did you need it to be transparent? For a black background?

The original on the mozilla site is with a dark blue background. I replicated everything using the word mozilla with the same background to get a close side by side match in Photoshop, and then changed the letters of the text to random mouse.
The original was transparent, which gives you the choice of almost any color background without having to redo the logo. I did the same.

According to the Firefox FAQ (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_FAQs#Miscellaneous), the font is FF Meta Bold (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/fontfont/ff-meta/bold-roman/).

That font is $40 for the set. I'm still not buying him a font!

Didn't think you would. But now that we know what font it is, maybe someone around here has it...
