how do i get my first page or homepage to show up

i created a simple html code that i want to use as my homepage or firstpage people see when they go to my site, i ftp'd it using cute ftp and moved it to my www directory but when i type my site name in my browser(clubcosmopolitan.com) it shows me the first page i had when i signed up with future quest ( the one with the clock,counter and date. how do i get the first page to show up when entered intop a browser?
