Anybody using FrontPage 2000 to compose/publish your web site?[nbsp][nbsp]If so, what do I put into the location to publish the website?[nbsp][nbsp]I tried the whole directory name and it still stuck it in the wrong place.[nbsp][nbsp]Or, do I just keep using WS-FTP?

Thanks!

Is FP 2000 publishing feature any different from FP 98? I use FP 98 and just put in my site's location, http://yoursite.com and the password. I had trouble at first getting it to work but it finally did using Web Pub Wizard.

I tried http:// but it said since Front Page extensions were not installed on the server, it couldn't publish that way.

Duff has written a short step by step tutorial for Frontpage 2000 publishing which many may find helpful in this area...

Check it out at: http://www.aota.net/FTP/FrontPage2000.php3

Let us know if works :)

When you try to save files directly to the web using frontpage, it tries to connect at port 80, which is the http port, if your server doesnt have FP Server extensions or a way to login at port 80, it will only look for logins on ports 21(ftp) 23(telnet) and 110 (pop3) as most unix based servers do.

Youll just have to FTP them up.

In trying to setup FP2K for some users here, the instructions at http://www.aota.net/FTP/FrontPage2000.php3 don't seem to work: telling FP2K to send the files to "domain.com/www" seems to send the files to "/big/dom/xdomain/username/www" and not the "/big/dom/xdomain/www" directory.

Anyone know offhand how to force FP2K to put the files in the right place?
