Hi, folks,
[nbsp][nbsp]The first time I saw HTML code was about thirty days ago, so you can call me a newcomer. I uploaded my page, and it is now in the www directory, along with the temporary FQ page that has only the description of what my page will be, etc. So how do I get rid of the temporary FQ page and get my page where you can see it with a browser? I've tried different moves, and copies, but am now stuck.

You just need an index file...

If booksby.htm was titled index.htm instead, it is what you would see at http://richardlundeen.com

- Newbie Today. Pro Tomorrow.
Sorry to interrupt the purpose of this post, but I wanted to say that she doesn't lie when she says that.[nbsp][nbsp]The first time I saw (and understood) HTML code was in January.[nbsp][nbsp]This past week I was offered a job based on my knowledge of HTML.[nbsp][nbsp]And this is a major, high-profile job[nbsp][nbsp](little do they know :P).[nbsp][nbsp]In December I never would have thought that I could accomplish what I have.[nbsp][nbsp]As someone with no formal training, I have the very kind FQ crew to partially thank for my success.

My point:[nbsp][nbsp]Believe them what they say you can be a pro tomorrow.[nbsp][nbsp]It is true![nbsp][nbsp]:)

Good luck![nbsp][nbsp]:)

Thanks, everybody,
[nbsp][nbsp]All is now well, after I renamed my page index.htm. Then I had to figure out that I also needed to upload my image files, not just the main page. Now I just have that one problem with Netscape, which I posted in the "programs" forum.
[nbsp][nbsp]Jimbo, does this mean I'm now an expert and can get a nice, sit-down job, out of the weather, like you?
[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks.

This past week I was offered a job based on my knowledge of HTML. Contrats, Jimbo![nbsp][nbsp]I don't know if you're one of the lucky few, or if I'm one of the unlucky few.[nbsp][nbsp]:P[nbsp][nbsp]I've been at this for four years and still haven't gotten past doing sites for myself and a few people I know.[nbsp][nbsp]Oh well!

I am one of the VERY lucky few...

I run a site that is a fan site for a sporting team.[nbsp][nbsp]I guess the team was impressed and contacted me to work on their site.[nbsp][nbsp]As cool as it is, it is going to be looong hours - 7 days a week; but the upside is that it marries my two biggest passions: web stuff and baseball; plus I'll get to travel with the team :) and I'll have 5 straight months off in the offseason.

I guess it was just a matter of being in the right place at the right time...[nbsp][nbsp]:)

Though somewhere in the back of my mind I think that they are just trying to "eliminate" the competition, becuase most of my visitors are people who choose to obviously not go to the "official" site.[nbsp][nbsp]Whatever the reason, I'm very happy about it.[nbsp][nbsp]It is the opportunity of a lifetime for me.[nbsp][nbsp]:)
