If you go to your CNC and go to "Server Info" and then scroll down to the PHP module version information, click where it says "phpinfo"

Then you would see (among a lot of other things) the following:
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled
