Problem solved - it was indeed a case of not seeing the wood for the trees!
Hello Jenny,
By any chance is the DNS for this domain being managed externally of FutureQuest? If so do you have a FTP A entry defined?
Try replacing ftp.domain.co.uk with just the IP address assigned for this package and see if it works.
Also the initial remote path may be an issue and i would leave that blank myself...

Thanks, Bob, but the problem is now solved! Undoubtedly a case of too many late nights and early mornings but all I had to do in my FTP program was to replace ftp.domain.co.uk (in the ftp site field) with domain.co.uk - doh!

Glad you got it sorted however the fix would appear to validate the lack of a FTP DNS entry for the domain in question and you may want to ensure that all DNS entries for this domain are setup properly...

Ah, well now it gets interesting
For this particular domain, it is true that the DNS is managed elsewhere. However, I also tried logging on to an extra FTP account with 2 other domains and was unable to log in to either of them unless I removed the ftp bit... However, a few hours later and I am having no problems whatsoever using ftp.domain.co.uk. Most strange! :dunno:
Sometimes, computers are totally beyond me...
Back to the original domain - the one where I have to omit the ftp bit as we manage our own DNS - yes, I can connect just using the IP.
Many thanks for your help on this one!
Jenny
