View Full Version : Is there a Windows hosting company as good as FutureQuest?

Hello Everyone,

I hope this is an appropriate forum in which to ask this question:

I've been with FutureQuest for years, and I think they're excellent. Very possibly the best web hosting company :vday2:

In the past I've tried other companies, with results varying from bad to appalling. The cost of those experiences to me has been tens of thousands of dollars, and months of my time (and probably years off my life!) :wah:

Anyway, much as I like Linux and open source products, I have to use what's best for any particular task, and right now I need to find a place to host a Windows ASP.NET 2.0 web application. And I'm having trouble.

I've looked at various sites that supposedly rate web hosting companies, but I've just found myself overwhelmed with useless information, and I haven't got time to spend days trying to discover if there's anything worthwhile amongst all the noise.

And yesterday I had a really horrible conversation with a sales person when I tried the "live chat" feature on one hosting site. Afterwards I was so angry I could barely type! :grr: And what I've seen in the public forums of others has given me some nasty flashbacks

I would go with FutureQuest for this project if I could, but it's just not an option - Linux hosting only - pity...! So, I would like to ask if anyone could please recommend some reputable and trustworthy companies with reasonable policies and prices, and excellent service.

I'd be particularly grateful if the FutureQuest staff could offer some suggestions. I'm sure they must hear a lot about other hosting companies?!

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

Keith.

I still haven't found an NT host that can match the service here. But I can tell you that my non-FQ site has been with the same company for probably three years now, which is something of a record -- we never lasted more than a year with anyone else. Big hosts, resellers, local shops ... they always started out OK, but it went downhill from there.

Which is why I have yet to reveal the name of our current host in the forums, because I'm afraid they'll blow up like all the others. Call me superstitious, paranoid, whatever.

:QTquiet:

I have no idea how up to date they are, or if they're even capable of handling a project like yours -- our site is just plain-vanilla ASP, and it doesn't really put them to the test.

But PM me if you want to look into it.

Randall

Some hosts offer Windows and Linux servers, and they would be in direct competition with FutureQuest, so I'd ask on Webhostingtalk.com or somewhere else. A Windows-only host might not be the best Windows host.

Hi,

I will reply offline. The company that I will mention offers both Linux and Windows. I don't want to give FutureQuest competitors advertising on FutureQuest's board. Message has been sent. Please check your private messages.

Best regards,
Kevin

I'll send a PM to you Randall, as you suggest. And I'll reply to your message privately too Stecyk.
