View Full Version : QuestMail - A couple of quick tips...
1.
Go to OPTIONS and set your Email address to the correct address. e.g. remove the VMIP- and make it look the way your recipients should see it. This will make it so the reply to address does not include the VMIP-.
2.
Hint with select boxes:
Example if you are composing a message and you want to see BCC and CC and Priority all at the same time. Hold down the CTRL key while making your selections.[nbsp][nbsp]This allows you to select more than one item at a time.
3
Hint: Once you DELETE a message it *is gone* for good.[nbsp][nbsp]You may want to goto to FOLDERS and create a folder titled TRASH.[nbsp][nbsp]You can then, "Move Selected To Folder" to TRASH and promise yourself that you will ONLY delete messages from your trash folder as to avoid a mishap ;)
Enjoy

Ok.. ignore tip number 3 above ;)
The TRASH folder has just been implemented.[nbsp][nbsp]e.g. if you delete a message it will end up in the trash folder.[nbsp][nbsp]If you delete it from the Trash -- it will be gone forever.
Enjoy!

Adding the QuestMail login to your own pages...
If you would like to have the login page someplace more convenient for yourself and other users of your FQ email accounts, or possibly resellers would like to offer the login page to their clients on their own sites, you can add the following to any web doc to accomplish the task:
<div align="center"><center>
<form action="http://questmail.futurequest.net/QuestMail.fcgi" method="POST">
<table border="3" bgcolor="#BFCBFB" >
<tr><td align="center">&nbsp; Check your e-mail with QuestMail! &nbsp;</tr>
<tr><td align="center">
<table bgcolor="#BFCBFB" border="0" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0">
<tr><td>UserName:</td><td><input size="15" name="user_name"></td></tr>
<tr><td>HostName:</td><td><input size="15" name="hostname"></td></tr>
<tr><td>Password:</td><td><input size="15" name="password" type="password"></td></tr>
<tr><td align="center" colspan="2">
[nbsp][nbsp]<input type="submit" value="Check Mail">
[nbsp][nbsp]<input type="hidden" name="passed" VALUE="login_parse">
[nbsp][nbsp]<input type="hidden" name="first" VALUE="1">
</td></tr></table>
</td></tr></table>
</center></div>

They are currently working on our network so that I cannot access my standard e-mail client and must use Questmail.[nbsp][nbsp]Unfortunately, I just went to Questmail and selected a few items (maybe six or so out of 25 messages) to delete and it appears to have deleted everything (all 25 messages) in my inbox.[nbsp][nbsp]I had some important e-mails that appear to have been deleted.[nbsp][nbsp]Can you please tell me if this has in fact happened, if there is any means of fixing it and how this might have happened.

srk: what email address were you accessing?
Also, check your TRASH folder and see if the messages are there...
INBOX - (delete) -> TRASH - (delete) -> *permanent deletion*
From what you describe, it appears that you pulled in the email via QM, and when you went to recheck later - another email client accessed the POP box and downloaded/deleted the messages...
Check both QM and your email client to see if you are 'Leaving mail on server'...

What srk has described is what usually happens to me when I select several messages already in the "trash" folder that I want to permanently delete -- instead of deleting just the selected messages, it deletes everything in the trash folder.[nbsp][nbsp]Not a big deal, as I intend on deleting anything in the trash in the first place.[nbsp][nbsp];)[nbsp][nbsp] However, if it happens in the inbox, that's a different matter entirely.
