Since getting a DVD-R drive I've been using Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 since it was bundled with the plextor drive and was surprisingly easy to use.
However, now comes the question. When backing up 100 GB of data to multiple DVD's, I don't like the way Roxio does it at all. You wind up with all the directories on every DVD, most of which contain no files.
As a backup where you would have to restore everything at once, it works. But what I need is recording software that allows me to record a permanent archive and/or backups to be used if a single file is lost, where it is easy to find on individual DVD's.
Any suggestions on good but not too expensive recording software that I can use to make multiple-DVD backups that remain easy to find files on (e.g. only directories containing files are created on each DVD and of course in order, maybe an option to not split directories between multiple discs unless a single directory is over 4.7 GB, etc., etc.)
