I am doing some end of the year web site cleaning, trying to get rid of what I don't want, organize directories, and so forth.[nbsp][nbsp]Here is my question.[nbsp][nbsp]

Say I have a directory called winter and another called summer.[nbsp][nbsp]I want to combine winter and summer all into the summer directory.[nbsp][nbsp]Is there any other way besides downloading the winter directory to my computer and then reuploading it to the summer directory on the server?[nbsp][nbsp]I have a decent connect (53333) most of the time, but even so, it takes forever using the method I described.[nbsp][nbsp]Does anyone know a quicker method for doing this?

Wishing everyone happy and safe Holidays,

Monty

I don't have an answer, but I MUST be possible. I've been wondering the same thing--but I'm using Fetch (Mac). Hope someone can help us both!

(I should/will post this in the Mac users area too.)

Thanks Justin, that works great.[nbsp][nbsp]It will move the whole directory or you can open the directory, and move just the contents.[nbsp][nbsp]Very kewl.[nbsp][nbsp]

The best way to move files, honestly, is to telnet in and use Midnight Commander (type "mc")...

Otherwise, wait a few more days and the new CNC's File Manager will have the Move capability built right in :)

<edit>
In CuteFTP (2.6) - select the files you want to move with the mouse or by CTRL+Clicking them, the right click and select "Move". Then type in the *full* path to where you want them to go (eg, /big/dom/xyourdomain/newdirectory) - the directory you type must exist of course...

Hope this helps.
