Hi I am hosting a site of a friend on my domain and was wondering.[nbsp][nbsp]Okay I know you can get extra ftp accounts but how do I restrict the Ftp account I get for her to just her three subdirectories?[nbsp][nbsp]

From the order form if you click on add extra FTP it says:

An extra FTP login can be purchased for $5.00 per month each. With this you can set which directory to limit that user to.

Hi elite

thanks for the quick reply![nbsp][nbsp]I didnt see this part "With this you can set which directory to limit that user to. "[nbsp][nbsp]But that is great![nbsp][nbsp]when I get it will it tell me how?[nbsp][nbsp]Also what do you know if it is possible for me to get this person her own shell access?[nbsp][nbsp]I cant see anywhere on the site that says if this is possible or not.[nbsp][nbsp]

When you order the extra FTP account you will specify which directory you want it rooted to within the order.[nbsp][nbsp]We set it up as you specify within the order form.

It can only be rooted to a single directory -- this will give it access to that particular directory as well as any files/directories that reside inside...

I have a question (some 3+ years on)... I see now that extra FTP accounts can now be created from the extremely-spiffy FQ Command 'N' Control. Is it possible to alter these accounts after they've been created?

For example, if I need to provide another user with temporary access to a directory, can I use the CNC to delete the FTP account when that need has passed? Is it possible to modify the directory after the CNC has created the login? Or do all these changes have to be directed to FQ support?

Kohan,

If you look underneath Actions in your FTP manager, you do have a delete option. Delete and start again!
