When I upload a changed html file by ftp and then refresh my page in my browser, it appears the same even when I clear my history folder and temp, temporary internet files. This seems to happen with ssi (.shtm) pages. Is there a delay before the changes are made on the server or am I making errors and not realizing it.
sincerely,

well, one thing I catch myself doing occaisionally is uploading to the wrong directory - then no matter how many times you reload, it still looks wrong!
Realizing what I've done always makes me go "well, duh," but it doesn't stop it from happening again.
I've never encountered a delay in FTP changes.

Your ISP is probably running a cache (like mine :( ). There is not much that can be done about it... believe me, I'm trying to find ways around it but no luck so far...
About uploading to the wrong directory, I almost laughed at that suggestion before my brain decided to remind me of the time I was uploading not only to the wrong directory, but was replacing my main index.html page with the index.html that was supposed to be in a subdirectory - oops ;)[nbsp][nbsp]Everyone makes mistakes...

Anytime I get a complaint these days about someone claiming their problem with seeing the latest version of a page is due to me, I tell them to slap the ?refer thing on the end of the url (use anything in place of refer).[nbsp][nbsp]Always proves it's a cache thing to them.[nbsp][nbsp]Only solution I've found for ISP cache.
