I'm jazzed. I've been doing my class site with little fanfare since 1997 and on FQ since 1999. Our local paper finally picked up on it. What's funny is that it'll probably bring down some heat on me from the suits in the district - it's obvious I don't teach in that narrow, scripted manner they want me to teach.

Anyway, I owe a big thank you to FQ, whose advice and great service have helped make the class site as useful as it is today. Thanks, FutureQuest!

Congrats, Fred!

I have always thought your polar bears site was the coolest teacher site I ever saw. ;)

Some entries clearly bear the stamp of a fifth-grade imagination, describing giant snakes or evil chickens in the classroom. Now what exactly are they implying here? I see stuff like that happening all the time, but I haven't been a fifth grader in 26 years.

I don't even think we had evil chickens in my day. These young kids don't know how good they have it.

I'm thinking the evil chicken writings were from the days when the district hot shots did walkthroughs through the classroom.

Excellent story, Fred!

Lots of great info there... Sounds like an excellent program, on which you've worked (and work) really hard.

Congrats!
