Hi,
english is not my mother tongue so i'm not sure this is the proper term to use in this case:

On one side there is a broker, that offers lower price from products of several companies (matter products).

How should I name these companies working with the broker ? Are they the "Dealers" ? Or Is there another term ?

Thanks,
Benj

I would probably choose "manufacturers" if they manfacture something or "suppliers" if they don't.

OTOH, if they are large software companies, some different words come to mind. <smile>

Thanks for your answer. The fact is that they can manufacture it or just resell it, it depends .... can supplier still apply ?

And it is not a software companies, but more like materials like wood, carbon......

Thanks,
Benj

I would say so. Perhaps others will suggest more choices.

I think 'supplier' is probably the best catch-all term. It's not an incorrect description of a manufacturer, and it fits a reseller too.

Companies that supply or sell are often called "vendors," whether they manufacture or are just middlemen.

I think supplier and vendor are perfect synonyms in this context, except that a supplier could be "in-house," another division or plant belonging to the same company where a vendor is a "seller."

Supplier is probably the most universal term as Mandi points out, other words supply narrower distinctions.

Thanks, it certainly helps. I will use "supplier".
