I've seen several comments about how the FQ folks like animals ... and figured that since Deb mentioned her cool owl/turtle/bird/etc. pictures, (http://www.picolio.com/Gallery/PuddleCam) some of you might enjoy these pictures of hummingbirds (http://www.komar.org/faq/travel/hummingbirds/)
P.S. I changed the title of the thread to "wildlife sightings" so it is more generic in nature - love to see stuff from other folks ... ummm ... doesn't change the overall thread title - maybe a mod can do if appropriate (?)

Yes, a fine collection. They're not vultures of course, but vulture feeders are so unpleasant in the back yard, drawing flies etc.
Having a hummingbird dart past the back of your head during an outdoor dinner party is a memorable experience.

some of you might enjoy these pictures of hummingbirds (http://www.komar.org/faq/travel/hummingbirds/) A friend of mine has just now come to the conclusion that hummingbirds are neurotic. Seems like a no-brainer to me -- how you could not be, living at that rate of speed? But that's just a guess on my part, since I'm not in a good position to observe their behavior firsthand...
I'm forwarding your hummingbird link. :yeah:

Glad you guys like 'em - don't forget there's a few other subpages - hanging out by the hummingbird feeder (http://www.komar.org/faq/travel/hummingbirds/bird-feeder/) (my favorite, since they would alight on your finger), slurping the hummingbird nectar (http://www.komar.org/faq/travel/hummingbirds/nectar/) ... and even a couple of 'em fighting? (http://www.komar.org/faq/travel/hummingbirds/fighting/) My organization probably leaves a bit to be desired, but I thought it would be better to break it out a bit rather than all on one page. And for grins, I just added an Alaskan butterfly on the main page since I didn't have anywhere to put it.

Neurotic is just common sense in hyperdrive.

Neurotic is just common sense in hyperdrive. But only if common sense is the baseline. Even genius veers wide of that mark. There's Woody Allen as the prime example, there are other celebs and millions of non-celebs. Oh, but we're talking about hummingbirds--sorry just being neurotic.

Thanks, Hulkster, but just to be clear, I'm just passing on a link to a great site -- I don't claim any credit for taking the pix.

Some yummy barbeque grill recipes (http://www.komar.org/bbq/bbq_grill_recipes/) and my outa control christmas lights (http://www.komar.org/xmas/) I love your illustrations for the Google ads. :sillylol:

One of my favorite "illustrations" is the biggest BBQ Grill ;-) (http://www.komar.org/bbq/biggest_bbq/)
Another approach is my "deep-cleaning" cycle which entails putting a few sheets of tin foil over the bbq grill cooking grid, and cranking the heat for a half hour.
Um, don't burn your house down doing it:

DogAndPony: Yea, it seems like the next thing (and I cleared it with Google) - helps pay the web server bills and the electricity for my christmas lights - certainly hasn't changed my income tax bracket and/or retirement plans! ;-)
TVB: Roger on not burning the house down - that was an instructional thread. Yea, build-up in the grease catcher is a BAD thing - I'm glad you (and your house - minus the deck) were OK. BTW, I'm just about to replace my wood deck with stamped concrete (http://www.komar.org/how-to/patio/stamped-concrete/) ... so this oughta add some flame retardence.
Since we've hijacked the thead a bit and telling fire stories, here's a few pictures from the North Boulder , Colorado fire of 2002 (http://www.komar.org/faq/2002_north_boulder_fire/) that I shot from the roof of my house.

Looks like Hulkster has heard that experts say putting images above Google ads quadruples[?] clicks. With the possible exception of the one on the Xmas lights page that says "Burnt Out" ...
