hi FQ,

i had a customer attempt to purchase something today and their transaction did not go through (twice, about 30 mins apart), so i am just checking if anyone else has experienced any problems, or whether you guys might have any inkling as to what may have happened.

i am using a cybercash payment system and the reported error i receieved from their end appears to be "Expecting HTTP POST message" which presumably they didn't get.

i have queried my customer for more details regarding their attempt to purchase but have not heard back yet, and i'll be contacting the verisign people who administer the cybercash program. it's quite possible it's a problem at their end. but i did wonder if there is any possibility that it could be something at the FQ end.

presently i do not know if my customer was on an https page at the time, but i'm guessing they were. the two transaction attempts occurred at 10:41 and 11:07 GMT this morning using plain socket syswrites of strongly encrypted messages from, presumably, my xrandommouse.merchant.net domain to cr.cybercash.com. i'm kind of thinking that it's unlikely you'll find anything in your logs that might shed light on what could have happened, but i thought i'd ask.

i'll be querying verisign, of course, and let you know what they say (though they could take a day)

hold up. could be my problem. i got hold of a cybercash rep using instant chat and they tell me that my transaction maximum was below the amount of the transaction. now, that's got nothing to do with the error message i got back from their end, but it's a good bet that's the actual cause.

so maybe i jumped the gun again. hope so. sorry about that.
