Hello everyone,
I new to the forums although I've been lurking around for a while. I'm working on a personal site and would like to get some opinions on the layout, colors, load times etc... The site is not complete but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Angela

The style is good, but it's not clear how you're dividing the groups of links. If you want links to pages of your website on the top as well as the left, I think you should either find a better way of dividing them, such as having "Home" on top and the rest on the left, or else have the same links (all of them) on the top and left. The links on the right make sense because they're all links to other websites, but the heading for all of them should be "Links." You have "Links" as the heading for just the top three. If you can't think of a title for those three, call it "Miscellaneous."
A yam was my best friend as a child.
...Maybe too much white space on top.

Looks great here. It appears the same in IE and Firefox. Perhaps there is too much vertical white space at the top and after the date? Sorry about Cartoon Network!

Hi Angela,
I like your site design and found it very easy to use/navigate. It makes sense to me why you structured it the way you did. Very good job!
Welcome to the Community,
Melissa :)
PS - From someone who has been "quit" for about 2 1/2 years now...You CAN do it! :)
It looks nice...and clean. One suggestion I would consider is making the site name a bit larger and maybe even more bold.

Thanks All for your suggestions and compliments! :yeah:
I took out alot of the white space and I also made the site name a bit bigger. I also change the "Links" to "Resources for Women".
I also tested it in IE and FireFox and noticed there is little bit of a horizontal scroll did anyone else notice if that were the case for them?
I really appreciate all your suggestions.
Thanks Again,
Angela

Yes, I see the horizontal scroll in Firefox. Fix that if you can. Also, in IE, hovering over a button on the left doesn't make it turn yellow unless you're hovering over the text. Neither of these is a big deal though.
