Alaskan Whale Stew:

1 medium-size whale, cut into bite-size pieces
5 tons Alaskan potatoes
17 gross ostrich eggs
6 drums (55 gal each) chili pepper
1 ton salt (add to taste)
2 truckloads carrots
1 snowshoe rabbit

Mix ingredients (except eggs) in an Olympic size pool filled with non-cholorinated water. Heat to boiling. Simmer 2 to 3 weeks or until tender. If it appears the stew may not serve the entire group, add snowshoe rabbit. This requires caution, however, as some people dislike hare in their food.

Serves 5,000 to 10,000.

Hmmm. Maybe a good dish to prepare for the next FutureQuest Staff and Site Owner picnic? ;)

Andi could never be so crassly commercial, could she? Oh my no, any resemblance to any particular brand of hamburger or any ground meat at all is purely rhetorical, I prefer the more expensive cuts in real life.

Whale cows are illegal as food by international treaty.

Britney would never fudge on an equation...

hmmm... why all these food references?

Are we there now? How about now?

Having had to answer that question a few million times this summer, from Kodiak, AK en route to FL - I know this one! The answer, best given at high rates of speed, is:

Why, yes! Yes, we are there! Please feel free to exit the car now . . .!

. . . and yummmm, Nutella. Cheap Nutella at the military commissary, one of the truly great reasons to stay in the service, LOL. Except that I seem to have become allergic to chocolate in the last year :waa: (something worth bawling about!!!)

Dog snoots, hare balls, sheep cajones...it's a natural progression for those with inborn backwater culinary savvy. My favorite last word snack recipe and for those far from the tundra, it doesn't require whale cows:

Donbalaan (http://www.funlinked.com/testicle/recipe.html)
(4 servings)

4 sheep testicles
2 medium eggs
1 cup bread crumbs
cooking oil
100 grams parsley
salt & black pepper

Wash testicles and cut length-wise along the middle. Remove the skin and cut each part length-wise into two slices. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper on both sides of each slice. Add salt and black pepper to eggs and mix well. Dip each slice on both sides in bread crumbs, then in eggs, and again in bread crumbs. Fry each slice in pre-heated oil on one side for a few minutes until color changes, Turn over and fry on the other side again until color changes. Serve with washed and cut parsley.

Song: TIBBY, OH TIBBY
Episode: 302- Gamera

(As performed by Tom Servo with very little help from Crow T. Robot)

Tom: More fish flakes, sweet friend? (Singing):

Oh Tibby, my Tibby, my heart is a mess
I don't have a protective shell over my chest
So people can hurt me with the cruel things they do
Yet somehow, sweet Tibby, I know you hurt too
Oh Tibby, my Tibby, reality is hard
So Tibby, let's play in the yard
Oh Tibby, oh Tibby, he runs like the wind
A couple of inches (uh-huh!) and then back again
La dah dah...doo doo...

Crow: Uh, may I take a verse?
Tom: Well, if you feel it Crow...
Crow: Ohh, I do...
Tom: Well, Crow, Then by all means, join me won't you?
Crow: Five...Six...Seven...Eight...(Singing) TIPPY!!
Tom: It's TIBBY! TIBBY!!
Crow: Oh, sorry...sorry... (Singing):

Tibby, I love you my fine little fella
Even though you gave the whole family Salmonella!

Tom: (angrily) NO! NO! It's not their fault!! It ISN'T their fault!!!
Crow: (Laughing) Hee hee hee hee!
Tom: (About to cry) Crow! You take everything good...(Crying) ...You ripped my heart out!!!
Crow: Jeez, I'm...I'm sorry...
Joel: C'mon Crow, let him finish his song...
Crow: Oh...Okay...It's just a stupid old turtle!
Joel: Go ahead, Tom...
Tom: (as lights go down) Thank you, Cambot. (Singing):

Tibby, my Tibby, your blood may be cold
But I know your heart burns hot as a coal
It burns with the love only turtles can feel
Tibby...(Spoken) Is our love real???

(Spoken interlude)
My Tibby, I'll never let the dog nose around your bowl, but you know that don't you? I can see it in your beady little eyes! If you high-center on your rock, Tibby, I'll be there to help you down. (Singing):

The toilet's not your fate, friend
You'll always run free
Tibby, long as you have me!

Crow: Do you realize a robot just sang a love song to a turtle?!?
Joel: (rolling eyes) That was really good, Tom!
Tom: (Crying) Ohhh, thank you...

I invite you to relax, enjoy, and let our mountain lodge decor and food take you to the Northwest! They may be located in South Carolina, but they seem to take their cues from more northerly climes (http://www.city.saskatoon.sk.ca/index.asp). ;)

...but they seem to take their cues from more northerly climes. South Carolina with a Canadian motif, this does sound intriguing.

Oh yes, a wonderful menu:

No turtle dishes but they do serve frog legs.

A fine place for delicious animal lovers.

Equivocality can make natural language interesting. "Delicious" modifies "animals" in this particular instance. Other interpretations will return an error message. :)

It is difficult to reason with cows. But they are quite adorable in spite of their sometimes unsanitary habits, so I will try.

I completely understand the sentiments expressed on your placards, and in some ways I sympathize. However there is a serious flaw in your cow-like thinking.

I will try to explain this without using words beginning with "moo..." as I do know how this confuses you. Did you know that if people had been eating chicken all this time that you and your kind would not even exist? Your lovely habitat would not exist and it would be filled with chickens and chicken factories.

What about milk you ask?

I appreciate your milk-making efforts and I think that the conditions you must tolerate are deplorable and should be improved. But I'm afraid I must tell you that the milk industry is an offshoot of the beef industry and that if your meat were not so delicious people would not have bothered to domesticate your ancestors just for their milk products (or their hides). No, cattle were first hunted and then domesticated just for their meat, milk and cheese came later after you began living with us.

Dear cows, I enjoy having you here on our planet with us, and I approve of all the many efforts made to make your lives easier while you are here. But the reality is that when people stop eating beef your numbers will dwindle. Perhaps that may happen and if it does I doubt that you need to fear extinction at this point.

But if God had not intended you to be eaten He would not have made you out of such delicious meat. And if that were the case your cow campuses would now be populated with chickens. And that would be sad because chickens don't have such soulful eyes or such beautiful fur.

I think we have found, in South Carolina of all places, the elusive Canadian cuisine.

The need for ethnic Canadian restaurants hit me full square one day in Mexico as I dined in a Chinese restaurant with a friend from British Columbia. Across the street there was a Pizza Hut, American fast food based on an Italian dish. On this same block in a coastal Mexican town was a Denny's.

As my lunch was served I asked my waitress for chopsticks. Thinking quickly I groped for the Spanish word for "chopsticks" but instead asked for hashi which is the Japanese word...

The waitress brought my chopsticks without comment and it was at that moment I realized that there were no Canadian restaurants...

I think I will leave for Greenville as soon as I can make the arrangements. I wonder if they serve Canadian bacon... ???

The only thing that is confusing me is the fact that Canadians don't eat meat, or at least it's not on the top of their food preference list...

I searched Google - and we all know that Google Knows Best -- and the #1 link was:

http://www.CanadianFavourites.com/

This site is kind enough to bring Canada's Favorite foods to the lower 48 states and you will note..... No Meat.

Seems you guys are all just silly and my turtles, as well as the other wildlife, are safer than you would like me to believe.

That's my new theory: If you taste like chicken, why should anyone bother eating you? They might as well eat the chicken. It's a kind of camouflage.

Once we're finished bringing Canadian cuisine to the masses, can somebody please tell me why this town has never had a real Mexican (or even Tex-Mex) restaurant in the 28 years I've been here? Grrr.

brilliant cow scientists More equivocation. Would these be scientists that are cows (Delicious cow scientists?), or scientists dedicated to the study of cows?

Perhaps "brilliant" might be a clue, but all things are relative, these cows may just be brilliant relative to ordinary cows...

Maybe he meant brilliant as in luminescent. Lab coats tend to be white and cows tend to be not all white, so I think he's talking about human scientists in a well lighted room, possibly with those mirrors on their heads.

Omigosh. This is far worse I thought.

These are the really really really craft ones... they wear invisible tench coats and transparent sunglasses -- and some of them masquerade as frogs.
