Hello.

I have a problem. I have a mailing list with email address from hotmail but i cannot send my newsletters to them... :dunno:
Do you have any idea why this happens?

Without more specifics, no.

Is this an email list set up through the CNC? Are any emails making it through to hotmail? How do you know there are problems? What are the symptoms of which you are aware? Do you have error messages or bounced emails? To actually research something of this type requires the name of the mailing list, the email addresses sent to and from, and the approximate time sent. If you can provide a copy of the email as well that is helpful.

In short, provide as many details as possible.

If you do not wish to provide them here, in the public forum, then I would suggest sending the details to the service desk at Service@FutureQuest.net

I have a newsletter. That's an email in html form with tables pictures etc... What i ve done till now ( i sent the email from my site's email xxx@bjlobby.net ) : if i send the newsletter in a hotmail address the email never reaches the recipient although the proccess of sending the email seems to be completed ok. I tried this with both incredimail and thunderbird. If i send an image alone or a table alone the mail reaches hotmail recipient... The same newsletter is delivered ok in a yahoo or another address. So the problem is between my email and hotmail or hotmail itself. if i send the same newsletter from a hotmail address to another the newsletter is delivered ok again... I have been trying to solve this for 3 days but found nothing....

And about my mailing list. It consists of hotmail emails.

Any help....??? :dunno:

Has the recipient tried looking in Hotmail's spam folder?

OK, I took a peek into your account, and see that you do have an ezmlm-idx mailing list set up through your CNC Mailing List manager, which appears to be for hotmail email addresses.

Are you receiving any error messages or bounce notifications to let you know that the newsletters are not received at the hotmail addresses? Or are the messages simply "disappearing" with no errors or notice and you just happen to know that they are not being received by the hotmail recipients?

If you can provide specifics about the mailing to the Service Desk (as requested in earlier post) we could look into the mail logs and see whether the newsletters have been successfully handed off to the hotmail servers or not.

The email transfer seems to be completed successfully.
I see no problem with either email client i used.
The email s just disappear. I have a few emails in the mailing list that are my own so as to check the transfer of the newsletter.
But i receive no emails when I send something on the list....
What do you exactly want me to do for you to search if the email reaches the hotmail recipient? What do you mean provide specifics??

As noted above, we need the following specific information:

The email address sent TO
The email address sent FROM
The date and time in ET zone when the email was sent.

A copy of the email if possible (sounds like you might have a copy saved in your "Sent" or "Outbox folder"?).

Any error messages or bounce/delivery failure notices (doesn't sound like you have these in this case?).

I ve just sent another email.
So :

Sent FROM : newsletter @ bjlobby.net
Sent TO : bjlobby @ hotmail.com
Current UTC (GMT): Friday, April 8, 2005 at 01:00
( How's GMT converted to ET...? )

Email : http://bjlobby.net/news.eml

No delivery problems. Everything seems to work fine.
Email not delivered.

During Daylight savings, subtract 4 hours from UTC to get EDT.
So sent at 9:00 PM (or 21:00 on 24 hour clock).

UTC is always fine, too, as long as you tell us the time zone you are in. ;)

We will look into this and let you know what we can find...

The email has been successfully accepted by the Hotmail servers as shown in the following logs:

2005-04-07 21:00:04.777362500 new msg 212757
2005-04-07 21:00:04.777475500 info msg 212757: bytes 80821 from <newsletter @ bjlobby.net> qp 22641 uid 80

2005-04-07 21:01:05.999159500 end msg 212757

Note the part:
Remote_host_said:_250 ... Queued_mail_for_delivery

250 is a success code from the hotmail mail server at IP address 65.54.252.230.

Essentially, our server attempted to deliver it to the hotmail server, the hotmail server said, "Thank you very much! I have it queued for delivery."

Once the mail has left our network, FutureQuest has no further control over it.

You would need to contact the hotmail administrators and ask them to explain what has happened to the email. You are welcome to provide them with the logs above (timestamps are EDT).
