Suddenly having numerous FTP problems...

I have been unable to consistently FTP over the past few months. This isn't just "from" one computer, one location...I've tried at my home office, from both computers, different software AND my husband has tried it from his office location using completely DIFFERENT software.

I am always able to get IN with my user name and password, then to be able to open the WWW directory but anything below that, it just "sits" and eventually gives this message:

!Receive error: connection aborted

Sometimes I get another error about access, but mostly the error above.

So, I never even have an opportunity to start transferring files -- it won't even let me in lower level directories!

I have been able to connect to the server, transfer files -- whatever -- for years...using the same software (WS FTP LE)...

I've uninstalled, reinstalled...tried other computer systems...software...to no avail...nothing...

HELP!

It is VERY hard to manage a client's Web site through the Control Panel File Manager.

Well, the first thing to check is the general FTP trouble shooting guidelines:

If that does not resolve your issue, then you need to send an email to Service@FutureQuest.net with all the details that you can provide. Specifically, all the settings as they are entered into your FTP program, any FTP logs and/or error messages that you can provide (exact copies, please), and any other pertinent information that you believe could help us in diagnosing the problem.
