Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 80000000 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 15 bytes) in Unknown on line 0 when trying to view various threads here for the last half hour. Are you automatically notified whenever there's a forum error like that?

Unfortunately no - since it happens outside of vBulletins error handling routines...
