Some of you might enjoy this too. Your job is to convince the cgi robot on the other end that you're human http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif

Only sort of bored. It's one of those things that happens when I'm stuck using the school's puter lab, and have no way of working on real stuff... (their ftp client stinks. You can upload and delete, but that's about it. Telnet very rarely fires up, and doesn't last if it does start.)
Good news tho, Cal State has accepted my application, and accepted my enrollment fee waiver application too (I don't have to give em $60 to apply!!! hehehe). I should be allowed to register for classes in a week or so.
Just waiting on word from financial aid now, so I can actually pay for the darned thing (all my life I hated school, and wanted someone to tell me I didn't have to go. Now that I want to go, it's been a royal pain in the wazoo to try and get it... very annoying stuff!).

UGH! Don't even get me started on the school computer lab! . . . or that funky thing they claim is their server (HA!)! Do you think I would actually pay for internet access if any of it actually worked? hehehehe
At least they finally got rid of all those 386's this year!

*LOL*
The machines at cal state are pentiums, but they've been severely hacked to fit the school's preferences. They used to allow students to dial in for free, but dropped that this year, now it's $30/quarter for 14.4k access. Price is okay, but 14.4? bleah! http://www.aota.net/ubb//frown.gif

they still make 14.4"S?? hehehe j/k
OUr schookl is freee dial in at 28.8 - but the server is so **** fucnky it throughs you off at random, the IP won't resolve which for me created a big time problem in logging onto the ftp server for the old rabbit rescue site - it wouldnt let anyone on who wouldnt esolve to a named addy aargh! then it took twice as long to sing onto irc for the same reason adn I couldnt get on undernet at all cuz all theri servers refused connections to unresolved Ip #'s
everytime I trie to dcc or icq anyone a file or recieve a fiel it would throw me off
it would go down without notice for DAYS at a time
ah ten tehre was that little matter of manually logging in and having to rember all the weird commands just to get a stupid internet connect HA! So liek after a few months I said fudge it! I need a REAL isp again I can't work in these conditions!
couldnt get my email either - so I had to find a freebie mail for homeuse agrhargahrghR
pita
don;t miss it heheh!

My computer has received quite a few frequent flyer miles... Hmmmm, just how long does it take to get a free flight, when the length of trip is only 3 feet or so...
Eisshhhh -- these are heavy cases, can only hurl them so far... http://www.aota.net/ubb//frown.gif

Hehehe this thing is better than most therapists! It asked me for something I think that only a human would think.
I said "Sometimes I think I'm going crazy."
It replied "Are you going by fedex or modem?"
hehehehhehe LOL!
Told me not to get off the subject when I laughed at it, though.

Thanks for sharing! I let Shaytar know about it, too -- she actually had to do a version of the Turring test (which this is based on) in her Sociology course. I told her to email her prof about it. http://www.aota.net/ubb//wink.gif
