Does anyone know how I can set up an email account so that it is read-only for some users?

I was too lazy to install & figure out how to use an archive program for my mailing list, since usually I'm the only one to use the archive anyway. So I set up a specialized mail account that I added to the mailing list and it gets all the list msgs. Now I've thought of how a few others might be able to use the archive, using Squirrel Mail, but I don't want to take any chances of them deleting any of the archived msgs. I thought with all the new functionality being added for more flexibility security I could do something like this, but the email files don't show in the File Manager. Any ideas?

It really is not possible to do what you want with a POP email account.

Basically, in order to store email on the server in an email account, it has to be a POP email account.

If you give someone the username and password to that account, they have full POP email rights, and not only can they possibly delete email from that account, but also compose and send emails out through that account.

Since you only want to make the materials available for review, a POP email account just doesn't seem like the right means of doing that, as it gives the users much more functionality than they need or you want them to have.

I was going to give you these links:

But, I see you've already been there before. ;)
