View Full Version : FutureQuest actually gets better!!!

FutureQuest was the first host I ever signed up with, based on a recommendation from a friend who said he’d read a positive review somewhere. I believe that was 7 or 8 years ago. I was a tad worried about lack of 24 hour phone support because of problems I’d had with ISP’s in the past and also because I was a novice (still am, actually) and needed a lot of hand-holding. I took a chance and have never regretted it. Email support has been fantastic and probably better and faster than phone support would have been. The one time I had a bit of an emergency I did manage to get Terra on the phone, even though it was the middle of the night! That was a blast! Most email queries were answered by Deb and she was always, I mean always, extremely friendly, helpful, and a joy to deal with. I was so impressed I even asked her to marry me at one point and got the nicest rejection I ever got. :)

Support staff now handling requests have continued that tradition of speedy, friendly, and all-round exceptional service.

One time I mentioned in an email to Deb that FutureQuest, as great as it was, was bound to be very successful which would result in getting too big to maintain the quality (and personality) of service. Deb assured me that would never happen and she was so right! Service, and everything else about FutureQuest has actually improved over the years.

Not only that, but that friendly, helpful tone carries over to the FutureQuest community. Whenever I got stuck or needed help someone always came to my rescue. Most recently Betsy, and others in the past, have happily helped me accomplish tasks which were beyond my meager technical abilities.

Been wanting to say this for a long time!

A great big hug to all of you – management, staff, and fellow Questniks!

Brian

5 years plus a few days (not sure how many since it depends on *what* day in January, which is not included there).

The join date is not necessarily when you joined FutureQuest though. I think I signed up for an FQ account in January 1999 as well, but I didn't join the forums until 2001 (I missed out on so much!)

And of course the reverse is true, I began reading the FQ forums in March of 2002. I could have registered then too but did not until after I became a site owner.

I'm sure there are some whose "Join Date:" precedes their Site Owner status. No?

Found my first activation email, Dec 4, 1998. I've been hosting here for 6 Years, 2 Months, and 6 Days or 3,254,400 minutes, give or take a few hundred minutes.

Thanks to calendarhome.com (http://www.calendarhome.com/date.shtml)

I'm quite honored...thank-you. It's nice to be able to assist instead of always being the one looking for help.

Found my first activation email, Dec 4, 1998. Hmm, lessee... I did my first domain registration (for the company I was working for) March 16, 1999. With Network Solutions. :rolleyes:

Shortly thereafter I would have discovered that ISPs don't do "virtual" hosting :blush: and gone off in search of a real virtual hosting company. (Is that an oxymoron, or what?) It wasn't FutureQuest.

No, that had to wait until July 2001, when it was time to put up a web site for one of my current employers. I brought that original site along with me (now dormant, but my old boss still uses it for his email), so I can proudly say that the first web site I ever worked on is hosted at FutureQuest. :clown:

I may have arrived on the net just a few months behind Binky, but I sure didn't have his luck picking out my first web host.

Yep - me, for one. I started reading these forums sometime in 1998, registered in the forums in 1999, but didn't become a FQ customer until a couple of months ago.

If Jan 1999 were correct sign up date, that would make it
6 years plus some change.

1999 = 0 years
2000 = 1 year
2001 = 2 years
2002 = 3 years
2003 = 4 years
2004 = 5 years
2005 = 6 years

As others have noted, it is possible to join the forums either before or after becoming a FutureQuest client. Binky actually became a client a month before he found the forums. ;)

P.S. Before Randall comes along and points this out...yes, I publicly acknowledge that I have once again gone ahead and posted information in this thread that others have already provided in earlier responses. :ras1:

I tried that but ran out of fingers after 4.

In keeping with the laudatory nature of this thread...thanks Randall for helping me out with some image stuff earlier tonight. It worked out perfectly :yeah:

In keeping with the laudatory nature of this thread...thanks Randall for helping me out with some image stuff earlier tonight. Careful, now. You'll ruin my reputation if people think I'm actually useful for something. :rasberry:
