Hi, I was just wondering if doing a CHMOD changing permissions on html files in the www directory affects people's ability to view files?
What if I CHMod my index.html so that the "execute" permissions are all un-checked?
Should they all be in 777 or 755 or what?
Thanks...

Yes, it would affect their ability to view.. it would also affect your own ability http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
644 is a recommended mode for them unless some other need is shown for the mode to be different. (some files will require a less restrictive mode like 777 or 755) Most files like your index page or images or any other standard pages not being called/written to by scripts are good at 644.
