View Full Version : Adjusting my reseller account?

I have a question on my reseller account, wondering if my plan is what is best:
1. Keep my "legacy" account - my original prospector account.
2. Downgrade a couple of accounts that are not using the resources in the larger packages
3. As the annual payments come up, switch them to monthly payments.
My questions are on #1 - can I switch that to a monthly payment; and #3 - Is there a way to do that through QuestAdmin (awesome tool, by the way), or order a package change, or what? This is all going to make life a lot easier.
I am not sure I understand all the changes, and I have to admit that I do not have time or energy to read the very, very -- lengthy -- forum topic over on announcements. I am not really seeing the problem with annual vs. monthly.
I plan on billing my clients annually if they so desire, or monthly. Either way, I will be paying FQ on a monthly basis when I get everything switched over. It really helps balance the cash flow out and simplifies the whole process. My clients have mostly enjoyed the monthly payment plan for their cash flow purposes, too. The only downside is that I spend a couple hours a month doing billing and accounts receivable. All part of the biz world.
1. Keep my "legacy" account - my original prospector account.
If your Qualifying Package can fit comfortably into a smaller package I would recommend going ahead and downgrading it.
As with most resellers, you last paid $299.40 for a year's worth of service on it which works out to $24.95 per month.
If you downgrade it to the Pioneer Package it will cost you $8.97 per month because it can now receive the same 50% discount as the rest of your packages.
That's a savings of $15.98 per month. Note, however, that you would need to purchase an RID License to pull this off. That's an extra $99 per year which equates to $8.25 per month. Your savings on the single downgrade more than covers it for a total savings, on just that one change of $92.76 per year and that's even after subtracting the cost of the RID License :)
Recommendation:
a) Visit the RID License Request Form to obtain your new RID License/#
http://www.FutureQuest.net/Services/Resellers/Request/
b) Once you have the license request a downgrade for your legacy qualifying package. 2. Downgrade a couple of accounts that are not using the resources in the larger packages Absolutely. We just completed a few of those for you and the savings was impressive I think :) 3. As the annual payments come up, switch them to monthly payments. Correct. For those legacy annuals, FutureQuest is doing this automatically for you. My questions are on #1 - can I switch that to a monthly payment; and #3 - Is there a way to do that through QuestAdmin (awesome tool, by the way), or order a package change, or what? This is all going to make life a lot easier. On #1 yes, as explained above, BUT remember to get the RID License first. RE: QuestAdmin...eventually yes...but currently no. QuestAdmin is in its infancy but we do have many goals for it that will continue to make things easier for everyone :)
It really helps balance the cash flow out and simplifies the whole process. I can't wait until you see your bill this coming month... You're one of the larger resellers that should gain a great deal from this. As far as how you've been running your operations, the new system should flow right into place for you nicely so I don't think a lot of the "confusing stuff" in the other thread will affect you in any adverse ways....
If any of the above doesn't quite click, let us know and we'll try to break it down some more.

I am finally seeing the light! Okay on the RID, I just was afraid to change that without understanding it first.
We have had a huge ice storm here, I've been on and off with power, massive tree damage, etc. Not like a hurricane thing, but still pretty ugly. Today's the first day I have had to actually deal with this!
Thanks for being my partner in entremanureship - you guys help make it all happen!

I hear tell we'll get a fence guy out here within the next four months woohooo! They sure did get behind! Thanks for being my partner in entremanureship - you guys help make it all happen! Thank you, Dee.

Just one more note, I did receive my monthly invoice and the savings were quite impressive. Just count me as a deliriously happy camper/customer here at FQ. The fact that you guys look out for us as far as things like this go, not to mention the reliable and quick attention.... well it makes it easy for me to not only pass a lot of savings on to my clients, and then they are happy campers, and so on. I'm a fan! :clapper:
:kewl: LOL... I had a feeling you were going to be happy when you saw that :yeah:
Thanks for the feedback!

Has pricing changed for SSL certs?
http://www.aota.net/forums/showthread.php?postid=123225#post123225
seems to say it will or has changed.
For resellers, is it still $50 to set up a shared cert, or $100 for a private one?
