I have a problem with fireworks, basically I have a menu to the left and the content to the right of the menu. I have sliced up the menu, and the content is one big html slice. Now the problem is when I add too much text to the content area (in dreamweaver) it stretches the tables which make up the menu and the images dont line up.

How can I overcome this?

Many thanks Kris.

I had a similar problem with a sliced images and menus on one of my sites, and I used "layers" to separate the top, side, and bottom from the middle body section.

I used Adobe Go Live for this, but I would think that dreamweaver would have this capability.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

John

Yeah Dreamweaver has layers.
How compatible are layers with the current browsers? :yeah:

You shouldn't have a problem with layers. I have a very simple (simple beyond simplistic) site at http://www.intersexsymposium.org/ that is entirely layers. Each content section and each image is in it's own layer. All have fixed sizes and fixed positioning. I've only run it through IE6 and FF1.0 and both do fine with it. I posted it here when I first put it up to get others to check with their variety of browsers and no one reported back any problems.

The only reason I did it that way was because I was in a hurry and it was easy. There won't be much content beyond what is there beyond some pdfs once I have the schedule and perhaps a registration form which I deal with when and if I have to.
