I am about to sign up with Futurequest and will be using X-cart for the e-commerce.

Has anyone used X-Cart on futurequest? Any problems?

Hello,

I would recommend reviewing this post:

You may also wish to search for other posts regarding X-Cart, with which I personally have no knowledge...

Good luck,

Have you considered a hosted solution such as 1ShoppingCart (http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app?pr=1&id=56072 )

It might be easier to have your shopping cart hosted separately by a specialist ecommerce company and then run your main website at FutureQuest. A hosted shopping cart is easier to maintain in my opinion since you leave the technical aspects to folks who do that for a living.

Hi Myke (Evie here)!

mromero, I'm curious if you've used their services before and have first hand knowlege of them? I went to check them out, and they did not instill a lot of confidence in me. I did not do an exhaustive search of their site, but I am left to wonder: How long have they been in business? Will they be in business in 6 months or a year? Who are these people? Are they in the US? Stuff like that.

If you were going to outsource it like that, what about doing a Yahoo store? They are reliable and it is REALLY simple, very customizable and not very expensive.

Hi Evoir

I found out about 1 SHopping Cart after I purchased an item through a vendor and liked the experience. So I did a little research and found out Marketing Sherpa which is a highly regarded ecommerce research company uses them.

So far what I like is their auto responder service which is very nice and much more powerful compared to a couple of scripts I've used in the past. I have considered using Aweber in the past for an auto responder but do not like that all emails emanate from someaddress@aweber.com - looks cheap to my mind and is also giving them free advertising all the time.

1Shopping Cart allows me to use someadrress@mydomains.com

The shopping cart also integrates seamlessly with 2CheckOut.com and dozens of other cc processing services.

Other than that I confess I've not done additional research on them. As to if they are located in the US I dunno. But I do not see why that would be of any importance unless you are located in the US and would be worried about tax consequences which can always eliminated or mitigated with a proper fiduciary strategy.

I will look at Yahoo Shops - anyone here using them and have any comments?
