Hi

I have a UK client who wants to start selling online. I'd like to move them to FQ, but would like to know if anyone's done it successfully, and what issues (certs, merchant ids, etc.) you had.

If you'd prefer, you can respond by PM instead of in public.

Thanks
Mark

I have a small online store set up for a charity that I volunteer my time and webspace for and I haven't had any issues. It's been up running on FutureQuest for a couple of years now.

Thanks Monty

Is it a UK charity?

no it's US based. Actually, Texas based would be closer. Terra hooked me up with a shared cert, and I found a forgotten shopping cart script that tha author wouldn't take my money for (he's selling a new version though), and in about 3 hours, had me a nice little store. I set the script to store the invoices at the root, and FTP in when I get a notice that something has sold to retrieve them. Bank of America runs the cards for me. BTW, my Dad's side of the family is from Bristol and I still have a few family members there.

I have a UK ecommerce site hosted here, we currently use SecPay as the payment gateway so we use their SSL, however there is no difference for UK sites.

A Secure Cert can be installed no matter where you live.

The only main difference between UK and US ecommerce is the payment processer you use such as Barclays Merchants Services, World Pay, SecPay, Secure Trading e.t.c

If you choose to send CC details using PGP then just setup a Secure Cert as normal.
