My husband and I host http://workingschnauzer.com which is a forum and resource for a very small international community (owners/breeders/trainers of German bred Giant Schnauzers). Somehow or another, we've been blessed to form some alliances with the German Kennel Club and they sent us back copies of 100 years worth of breed stud books.
The agreement was that we would get these up onto the Internet into a format which can be queried by the casual user. Basically the idea is, user wants to know the ancestory of "X" dog. They could input, all or portion of the dog's name, and a four to five generation pedigree would result.
Since then, we have attempted to contact a number of similar sites such as "briardworld.com." But no one is responding.
I've even thought about learning php/mysql, but the learning curve is way too steep.
