Rich -
Happened across the rsmarketing.com web site and it appears you no longer offer credit card processing services. Or is the info just hidden somewhere?
Also, any opinions on Humboldt vs. ECHO?
I believe Rich is just servicing existing clients at this point.
Dan
Yes, I have no credit card processing services or bananas. :)
I dropped my direct merchant agreements to focus more on consulting and some other projects that required me to have no conflict of interest in the merchant account arena.
Note, however, that all FutureQuest clients still get free assistance with product selection and recommendations. This includes merchant accounts, gateways, shopping cart, or other e-commerce related items.
I am still the "Merchant Rep" for FutureQuest only now I have a lot more merchant providers that I can "rep." :)
re: Humboldt vs. Echo
Humboldt is one of the leading merchant banks and I highly recommend them. Because they are one of the more conservative acquiring banks they have more stringent rules and requirements. But, this also means they are a very safe and reliable place to put your daily cash deposits. Now this might not mean a whole lot if all you have is a startup hobby site earning $100 per month. But when all your sales are from the Internet and this is how you pay your bills and feed your kids, dogs, birds, and turtles, then safety-of-funds takes on a whole new meaning.
Echo is also a good choice, especially for start-ups with limited funding. The only problem with Echo is that they require that you have a bank account with them and they make your deposits to this account (unless you also have a retail store in which case they will allow deposits to your existing account). But this would be just a minor inconvenience for start-ups.
Hope this helps
Humboldt Bank is now Humboldt Merchant Services and can offer better rates than it once did. In fact, I'm pretty impressed with some of the numbers I've seen. I'm sorry to hear that Rich is no longer offering Humboldt set-up, but this doesn't mean you can't still get set up with Humboldt through an FQer. I'll be happy to help anyone who needs to get set up with Humboldt or just get some quotes. Also I think Rich's specialty is Perl solutions whereas we focus on PHP solutions.
