Warning: dense moment.
Umm how do we even tell what MySQL server we are on? Wasn't on the 'Server Info' in the CNC.. so was curious if there was an easy way to find out such that I missed.

Hello Joe,
You could look up the IP address of mysql.yourdomain.com and then check which of our dedicated MySQL servers it points to. However, we have made a quick addition to the CNC and you'll now find the name under 'Server Info' :)

Wow... very cool. Thanks. Just figured I might not be the only that wasn't sure what MySQL server they were on.

The reboot has been completed, the new kernel is in place and the server is back in full production.

Arthur,
When you take a MySQL server offline do you do anything to prevent the chance of it going down as data is being entered? I am just wondered about the risks of corrupted tables if someone was inserting data at the very point MySQL goes offline, do you lock all tables first to prevent that?
Just curious.
Thanks
Pete

MySQL will, when you gracefully shut it down (which was the case here), lock all tables, wait for all queries to finish and then flush all data to disk, thus ensuring no data is lost or corrupted. And after that, the server is rebooted.
