The maintenance will begin in at midnight tonight, and I'll be turning the circuit down at 11:45pm this evening to ensure a clean cutover to the Internap lines...

The Qwest fiber ring cutover has been completed and our BGP4 sessions have been turned back up...

We are hoping to see a reduced latency since we are one of the first few on the new Orlando <==> Tampa fiber ring, whereas before we were coursing through two interconnected rings getting to Tampa distribution point...

Both of us are monitoring the performance aspects of changeover and time will tell what the overall average improvement will be...

In conclusion, traffic is flowing out all of our egress links with condition green across the board...

Hallo Stan, goedemorgen :)

This was not related to the Qwest network maintenance. There were some connectivity problems caused by the router on our Internap link.

A problem in one of the routing tables was causing problems with the inbound and outbound traffic on that link and it also prevented that part of the network traffic converging on our Qwest link.

The problem has been fixed and everything should be back to normal now.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience,
Arthur
-- but why does it have to happen to all the nice people??? --

A message was sent to me about 70 minutes ago, and it hasn't been forwarded to me yet...

Email delivery may have been delayed, because some inbound and outbound connections could not be made.

Mail servers will always try again later if a connection could not be established and no mail should get lost in cases like this, it would just get delayed.
