View Full Version : Weird...
Okay, this was too funny. I just went to Internic (was doing a whois lookup) and got one of those loverly 'no dns entry' errors. Something's really wrong when Internic doesn't have a DNS entry... It's all better now (think it was actually a problem with the lab machine I'm on, as nutscape did an illegal op right afterward)

Gee, wabbit, and I thought SCHOOLS were the ones that had all the good connections.
Also measuring downloads in minutes per page instead of pages per minute http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
At GM (yeah, you'd think we'd know better)
Hey, buddy, can you spare a baud?

. . . and I thought SCHOOLS were the ones that had all the good connections.
No way!
Shaytar (my housemate) goes to "presigious Queen's University," where I think the longest she has ever kept Netscape running without it crashing is . .. oh . . . maybe 30 minutes. It usually gives out on her in under 10! It doesn't help that they're still running version 3.0 there, of course (and most of the puters only got upgraded from win3.1 and netscape 2.0 last year!)

Cal State (my school) has a plethora of boxes going... Win95, NT, Unix, Mac and Sun Solaris all going (off and on) together. That's probably at least half of the problem.

LOL you guys! My school has a T-1 line!
But then again this is a private school...
and we are pretty hi-tech.
Like big monitors (for notes, etc.), cable tv, vcr's, & computers in every room.

man we go to a private school in a really like upscale (read "filthy stinking rich") part of town and I'm pretty sure when the system goes down it's cuz the gerbil got tired from all that running. Then once they get a replacement everything is back to normal.

LOL!
No gerbils here... but I can relate to you on the filthy stinkin' rich comment.
My school is probably HOME of the filthy stinking rich people. Actually, I think "The School of Filthy Stinkin' Rich People" is it's official name.
I can't relate to alot of the people there because well, I am not filthy stinkin' rich!
