Woohooo!
I got my domain transfered already! I was bored so I typed in my address --and wouldn't you know it --it went through to the FQ default index.html!!!! This was only two weeks (exactly 2), I was expecting 4!
So here I am, all happy and excited! Internic finally came through for me!
I am going to try to get the whole thing up before Feb. 18th...

PS: I am not so new that I should be introducing myself! I have posted before as "tatu". (just FYI, so I don't get all the welcomes again!) http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Biffer,
You didn't by chance have to change any details before you transferred your domain did you ? I've got to the stage now wondering what'll come first; my domain transfer or the new millennium http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

Nope, no changes in info...
I just had to get it transferred from register.com to here.
What is your domain name DeanB? When did you star the transfer?
I started my transfer exactly 2 weeks ago and here I am... if it is taking longer than that or you started the transfer before me, you need to contact Internic. Contacting usually speeds things up somehow.

Contacting Internic ? Now there's a joke..
I had to go through the routine of faxing them with copies of driving license & utility bill just to change the admin contact email. Crazy. I'm still awaiting a response and a database update before FQuest can even begin the domain transfer @#&*%$"£!!!!!

Ugh! I know what you mean!
I have absolutely NO PATIENCE in contacting them, it is ridiculous!
When I call, I could wait in line with the phone for an hour! And it is NOT toll-free, it's a long distance #!!!
Better get out the 10-10-321 phone plan! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif LOL! Ü

You transfered from register.com - I take it that means it was sort of "on hold"? If so, was it ever a site before now? That could be why it went faster (I don't really know, I would just imagine transfering from one server to another would be more work than transfering from being on-hold).
I could just go to register.com and see. That would involve work. Work is bad. Me lazy http://www.vdj.net/2.gif
Hehe - I looked at them and I guess it was on hold. I would have to imagine that this means the transfer would take less time...

Yes, it was on hold....
Hey, why are all my smileys upside

LOL! Maybe because you're using your own smileys! I retrieve this from vdj.net: http://www.vdj.net/2.gif

Register.com is actually a great service, it will register your domain and put it on hold for free.
I made the mistake of doing this because I thought I would have to go to a host that charges a $50 setup fee, but waives it on trasfers. Of course I ended joing FQ, which has no setup fees, so the extra wait could have been avoided. Next time I will definately do it with FQ! Unfortunately I have already registered about 5-7 domains with Register.com for holding so my life will eventually be one big transfer.

It took awhile to get the correct emoticon, hence all the editing!

FQ is great - I filled out the online application on a Sunday afternoon, got a call from Terra on Sunday evening, and Monday morning I was on VDJ.Net. If I remember correctly... I was Woo Hooing that day too.
And I screwed up all this luck by making a typo in my email address! I still haven't changed it with Internic yet - I'm waiting until they get their @#$% straight first (I already paid them, though).
http://www.vdj.net/i.gif can see you...
