I've just added a script to my site at www.webauthorities.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi (http://www.webauthorities.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi) . Please go and play with it, before I register the site on the search engines. I need some users to test it and look for possible problems. The categories will stay pretty much the same, though the names may change. If you have an idea for a category, please let me know.

Also if someone could send me a banner add via e-mail, I want to put it on the site to do more testing.

Thanks

I had lots of problems entering the three bid values. For a lot of times, the script told me that something was wrong with the BID, but it didn't tell me what. After 6 tries, it worked. So where is my new item???

When you said to play with it, I hope you meant literally - I am selling a pair of imaginary speakers.

Anyway, on the automated Email, maybe you should specify the From and Reply-To addresses - have it reply to your info address or something, instead of saying not to reply to the email.

I am now waiting for the 5 minutes for the thing to close - I really want those speakers! They probably sound pretty decent, even though they're blown... Um, at $543.00, that's a deal! Right? Um, yeah, yeah, definately a deal... I'm sure they're good... just because there's no picture doesn't mean anything, right? Right??!? Help me out here, OK???!?

I'm having second thoughts. Um, is Indiana one of those states where it's illegal to not purchase an item? I guess I'll live with them speakers... of course, we'll be thrown out of the house if I can't pay the rent, I mean $543 is a lot for some old broken speakers. Darnit! I think I made an impulse buy...

Please let me back out! PLEASE!!!I can't afford them speakers!!!!!!!! HHEELLPP MMEE!!

Ok, that's enough of that. 5 minutes is a very long and boring period of time to sit and wait to see what the CGI is going to do when the bidding closes. I just figured I'd let you know what happened when it did. Waiting...... more waiting..... still waiting...... haven't gotten that email yet.... otherwise the script seems to run nicely.... no real problems on my end...... how many times is it normal to spell check a post? Bored... To... Death... Up... Too... Late... Past... My... Bed... Time... Or... Is... It... Bedtime... One... Word... Or... Two?.. I..Hate..having.. To.. Think.. It's.. A.. Major.. Strain...

Ok, it hasn't done anything and it's been WAAAY more than 5 minutes. Oh, well. It worked except that the bidding hasn't closed yet. Or what is it supposed to do after it does???

Ok, I'm going to shut up now. If I don't post this I'm going to delete most of it first - we wouldn't want that, would we?
