A project to create an open-source 21st-century Rosetta Stone (http://www.rosettaproject.org) of the world's languages is taking the analog route -- micro-etching the text onto a 3-inch metal disk that should last 2,000 years. No more worries about where you're going to find a working Zip drive in 4002, eh?
All that your average cockroach anthropologist will need is a 1,000-power microscope or really good eyesight.
