View Full Version : Hi everyone, I'm new....
Hello Everyone! I'm new here...
So expect lots of postings from me from now on.
I must say the major reason I joined FQ is all of you guys' friendliness, support, and gleaming reviews of FQ. I was convinced on the spot.
I have a quicky question though, and I know all these Internic questions are tedious, but how long are transfers usually taking?
Internic finally posted "customer advisories" saying "Abusers have hit our system with fraudulent registrations, causing system processing delays." which would be a nice way of saying "We are being attacked by Hacktivists."
I have also tried calling Internic at least 20 time yesterday and today but just get a busy signal or a pre-recorded message stating "all circuits are busy. Call again later."
Hi Tatu,
Welcome to the forums! (or should I say the best community on the net?!?!?)
As far as Internic goes, *sigh*, yes they are a mess.. but clearing up.
There is a post containing both the advisory you mention and another link to an article about it in the Server News Forum at http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000066.html
The transfers seem to be taking anywhere from a week to a month. How long will this domain take compared to that domain is anybody's guess:/
Internic is closed evenings and weekends (go figure)... try calling them again on Monday.
The transfers are NEVER fun waiting for...

Let's invent the future!
Wow, thanks everyone...
Boy, that Internic thing ticks me off! I know Internic is "government" appointed, but they need some serious 'supervision.' All if my 'internet life' Internic has been a SLOW, AGONIZING process.
I say Internic improves or goes! Replace it with a government run office!
Yikes, now I am scaring myself! The US Government would most likely worsten the whole ordeal... there seems to be no solution!

LOL Internic is annoying. Once went to internic's site and got a "No DNS entry" How's that for fun?

I've been waiting 3-4 weeks for my Internic transfer now. And there's nothing I can do about it, they are the only provider of .com domains. That makes them a monopoly, doesn't it? I'd go register a Christmas Island ( www.nic.cx (http://www.nic.cx) ) or Niue ( nic.nu (http://nic.nu) ), but .com just sounds so much better...
And Tatu, you should enjoy it here, I have so far (domain or not).

Hi Tatu,
Welcome to the server! I'm fairly new,
but I think you'll like it here. I guess
I lucked out as just a couple weeks ago
I got through Internic pretty fast (.org
registration).
