After searching through gobs of ISPs FQ was the only one without a negative review. So I figure either there is some massive brainwashing going on, or there is truth in that. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Anyway I'd like to say hello to everyone.

Ahh it's no secret... we've found that good old fashioned hand soap works great for getting the brains all washed up and sparkling clean http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Welcome aboard -- Would you like to schedule an appoitment for a wash and wax... or just hold out for the standard scrub bath that comes with the package ?

Welcome to what is becoming the worst-kept secret in the world of Web hosting, Christopher.

You'll love the family atmosphere, the fantastic tech support, and the responsive servers. Best of all, you're now with a host whose owners have genuine concern and caring for their clients.

Hi,Christopher!
I like your username. Are you one of these deep philosophers? http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
As for brainwashing, yes, of course, it happens on the forums but also on your own site when you see everything is so perfect. The funny thing is it makes us happy. So, don't resist. You're sleepy, now...

You're happy at FutureQuest... You're happy at FutureQuest... Welcome... happy... Welcome...

Thanks you guys!

But I do have a serious query, the InterNIC listing states a very old and defunct email address -- will this cause a problem? Or am I a technochondriac as well as hypnotized?

And Cassiop, I'm hardly a deep philosopher. Maybe a cynical satirist?

Or maybe just someone's who's been playing Baldur's Gate too much...... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

If the Admin contact email address is no longer valid ... this WILL cause a problem.

You'll need to be calling Internic with your Tracking number and possibly getting a FAX together as well... please email Support@FutureQuest.net for more info. We'll get you going with the 'process'

Tell you what everybody, I just had a very bad experience with my previous web "service" provider.

I signed up with FutureQuest, and I breathed more than an sigh of relief. It was more like breathing a different atmosphere.

I had decided to cancel my service after my site (still under construction) had not been working for three full days. What was truly sad was (at that point) the site was only 11 days old ... and had been effectively dead for 27% of its "life." It's a family site, and I'd asked relatives to look at it for content and presentation. Poor site. And boy did I feel stupid.

I was really upset ... not so much that I had picked a lamer service provider (who's name I'd like to post but I'm not sure that's legit), but that I figured, "Well, that's probably the way it is everywhere. The providers will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to sign up, and it's really not until you're using their service that you have any clue about how good their service is!"

I stumbled (literally) upon FutureQuest, and snooped around. Things looked good, but when I checked here at the UBB postings, I realized two things:

(1) There are a lot of really, really bad Internet Presence Providers out there,

and,

(2) FutureQuest is not one of them!

My site isn't up yet, but I have no doubt that any problems or concerns I have will be addressed promptly, courteously, and in a helpful and concerned manner. Get this: when I was initially uploading my content a few days ago, I was a bit confused about where I was supposed to put stuff. So I send some email to support@futurequest.net or whatever it is, and I get mail back within about 10 minutes. And this was at 12:30 or so at night. I still can't believe it.

Well, that's service. And I'm really very glad to be part of this community, too. Everyone seems to be focused on helping one another out, a "real" virtual community (if you know what I mean http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif).

Wow. I think I'm done. That felt good. Much better.

P.S. My site feels much better too!
