We have received a general notice from Dotster as follows:
This is to inform you that several registries, including the .BIZ registry, the .TV registry, and the .COM/.NET/.ORG registry, will be performing routine maintenance at varying times throughout the day on Saturday, May 18th. A major portion of the maintenance will be occurring between the hours of 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. EST, but smaller maintenance periods will also take place throughout the day.
During registry outages customers may experience intermittent problems throughout the site. In particular, some check results may return a domain as unavailable even though it may be available.
Additionally, orders may take several hours to be processed if they are submitted during a registry maintenance.
The management of domains is also affected during these times. Customers attempting to modify contact information for a domain in which the registry of that domain is performing maintenance, may receive an error message saying your changes could not be completed. It is also possible that Whois lookups for the domain may fail during the maintenance window.
We apologize for any inconvenience these maintenance periods may cause, and
thank you for your patience and understanding.
For those considering domain registration or modifications during this time please be aware of the above.
